Industrial Hygiene
Industrial hygiene (IH) surveys assist clients evaluate and document employee exposure to airborne contaminants to determine if employee exposure exceeds the applicable regulatory permissible exposure limits. Based on the laboratory results of the exposure monitoring, specific engineering, administration and work practice controls and/or the use of personal protective equipment will be recommended for implementation. Additionally, Virtus can evaluate the workplace for noise exposure, heat stress and ergonomic hazards in an effort to reduce and prevent the potential for musculoskeletal disorder injuries. The focus is to modify the work environment to the worker as opposed to requiring the worker to adjust to the equipment, work task, or the environment they work in.
